About the Weber Q 240 Electric Grill

Part of the Weber Q series, the Q 240 was updated to the Q 2400 in 2014, and the Q 140 became the Q 1400, but you can still buy the quality Q 240 online (aka the “Weber 592001 Q-240 Portable 280-Square-Inch Electric Grill”). The Q 1400 and the Q 2400 are essentially the same grill, but the Q 2400 offers 280 square inches of cooking space while its lower-priced sibling, the Q 1400 has 189 square inches of cooking space.

This portable electric grill has:

  • a 280-square-inch cooking area – enough to cook for three to four hungry people
  • porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grates
  • a removable drip pan
  • an aluminum heat-retention liner to help maintain a consistent cooking temperature
  • a 6-foot grounded electrical cord for simple plug-in operation
  • 5-year limited warranty.

The unit measures 25 inches long x  27 inches wide x 26 inches high.

The Q 240 is perfect for city grillers and apartment dwellers where charcoal and gas grillers are banned.  You’ll find this grill is super sturdy. It’s made with a cast-aluminum lid and body on a glass-reinforced nylon frame.  the 1560-watt grill measures 25 inches long by 27 inches wide by 26 inches high and carries a five-year limited warranty.

The Q 240 doesn’t have a water tray (like some other electric grills), but it does have a removable grease catcher, which makes the clean up a lot easier. If you clean the Q 240 well after each grilling, you’ll find that it doesn’t produce much smoke other than what you’re cooking at the time.

If you’re after some authentic smoky flavor, place a Weber 7576 smoker box on top of the cooking grates.

Don’t forget you can also pick up the Weber Q 6557 grilling cart (read our review) to make it easy to secure and move your grill and accessories around. Too easy!
